Terms of supply

Last updated 16 January 2026. These terms apply to all manufacturing work carried out by Calzante S.r.l..

1. The supplier

Goods and development services are supplied by Calzante S.r.l., registered with the Chamber of Commerce of Macerata, VAT IT 01847620435.

2. Quotations

A cost per pair is issued after the first prototype round and holds for the season stated on it. Quotations given before a prototype are indicative only and are described as such.

3. Prototypes

Development includes two prototype rounds. Prototype charges are payable whether or not the project proceeds to production. Additional rounds are charged at the same rate.

4. Minimum quantities

Production runs are a minimum of 60 pairs per style and colour. Where a run falls below the minimum after a client reduces quantities, the cost per pair is re-quoted.

5. Tolerances

Leather is a natural material. Variation in grain, shade and thickness within a hide and between hides is normal and is not a defect. Agreed shade tolerance is set against a signed swatch at the start of a run. Dimensional tolerance on heel height is ±2 mm.

6. Delivery

Lead times run from the date all confirmed materials are in the factory, not from order date. Delivery is Ex Works Civitanova Marche unless the order says otherwise. Where we are late for reasons within our control we will say so early; we do not offer liquidated damages and do not accept clauses imposing them.

7. Payment

Prototypes are payable on invoice. Production is 40 per cent on order confirmation and the balance before despatch, unless separate terms are agreed in writing. Goods remain our property until paid for in full.

8. Lasts, patterns and tooling

A last or heel tooling paid for by the client belongs to the client and is released on request at the client's cost. Tooling from our own library remains ours and is not exclusive. Patterns developed for a client are the client's; the underlying know-how remains ours.

9. Confidentiality

Each party keeps the other's commercial and technical information confidential. We do not name clients, show their products or use their marks in any material, including this website, without written consent.

10. Claims

Claims for shortage or visible defect must be made within fourteen days of delivery, with photographs and the style and batch reference. Our liability is limited to repair, replacement or credit of the affected pairs.

11. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delay caused by events outside its reasonable control, including tannery and component supply failures affecting the whole district.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law and the court of Macerata has jurisdiction.
